Ms. Margo McDowell Gore
October 7, 2019 - This week we begin the Physical and Chemical Properties of Matter unit. Students will conduct an investigation of various ways to separate mixtures.
On Friday, your child will bring home a Science Fair guidelines packet. I suggest they start working on this as soon as possible. The topic and hypothesis will be due next week. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns about your child's progress in my class.
I am excited to spend the 2019-2020 school year with the wonderful students, parents and faculty at Kennedy Middle School. I teach seventh grade Science, Advanced Science and Comprehensive Health. I also serve as the science department chairperson, science fair coordinator and mentor/advisor to the Kennedy Future City and Engineering Club. My journey as an educator in Aiken County Public Schools spans over 22 years at the middle and elementary levels. I am a National Board Certified science teacher (Early Adolescence) with a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of South Carolina Aiken; a Master’s degree in Divergent Learning from Columbia College; and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Policies at the University of South Carolina.
My ultimate goal for this school year is to ensure that my students develop an intrinsic love for science as they grow academically, socially and internally.
I will post daily homework, upcoming assessment dates and events on REMIND as well as on this webpage. To join, download text the number 81010 and enter the class code @goresci7.
