Bachelor's Degree: Early Childhood EducationGifted and Talented Endorsement

Ms. Kaune

I graduated from University of South Carolina-Aiken in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have a Gifted and Talented Endorsement from USCA. This will be my 15th year teaching and I have been in third grade in the same room at Jefferson every year.  I have loved every minute of it! I love teaching 3rd grade because there are so many new and exciting things that students learn in 3rd grade such as South Carolina history and multiplication facts. I also love the transition that takes place in 3rd grade from "learning to read" to "reading to learn."

I am a proud Momma to 3 children. Kennedy is in 2nd grade and Mark is in kindergarten, both here at Jefferson! My daughter Blythe was born last November and she has truly completed our family!

In my spare time, I like to watch Carolina football (GO COCKS!), read, go the movies, exercise, run, drink coffee, go to the beach and spend time with family and friends. I am a member of Stevens Creek Church and I serve at the Augusta Dream Center. If I am not spending time with my kids or driving them to their various extra curricular activities,  I am either curled up reading a good book or on a run.

I love: my kids, Jesus, roller coasters, the public library, traveling, chocolate, Starbucks, 90's nostalgia, anything garnet and black, the gym, Tom Petty, summer, red roses, my bookclub, my church, being a cheer/pageant mom and a soccer mom and food!

Here at Jefferson, I am the Accelerated Reader Committee chair, gifted and talented teacher and I coach the running club.
