Basics

Hello! This is my 10th year teaching 2nd grade. I am fresh off the boat from Jefferson Elementary. I live in Graniteville with my husband, who is a math content interventionist for our district; our two children, Avaleigh and Jude; two dogs; and four cats. Outside of school I like to spend time with my family, in nature, with a good book, or visiting with friends.

Childhood

While I was born in upstate New York, my parents settled in Aiken when I was 3. I attended Aiken Elementary, Kennedy Middle, and South Aiken High schools. When I was young, I wanted to be a pink Power Ranger, but I ultimately decided that I had always been a teacher at heart.

Education

I chose to attend College of Charleston and USCA to earn my Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education in December 2012. Later, I added a Master’s in Teaching in May 2020. Most recently, I have accumulated Read to Succeed and virtual endorsements on my certificate. I love learning how to be a better teacher to help shape the future.
