Mrs. Josianna F. Rodgers

Hello!  My name is Josie Rodgers, and I am the Teacher Cadet instructor and English II teacher for RSM High.  This is my 16th year at RSM and my 28th year teaching.   I love teaching!

I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Columbia College in 1993 with a degree in English and Secondary Education.  I earned my Master's Degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment from Walden University in 2006.  I also earned National Board Certification for 10 years in 2000.  I have taught English 1-4, journalism, Teacher Cadets, SAT/ACT Prep,  ESOL (grades 4-12), and Read 180.

I live on a farm (cows, chickens, goats, donkey, dogs) in Ward with my husband and 2 younger children. My husband is a football coach at Wardlaw Academy.  My daughter Annalee is 19 and a sophomore at Wofford College, and my son Aiden (the owner of the goats, football player) is 13.  I have an older daughter, Amber, who is a benefits coordinator for Amick Farms. Her son River is 6, and her daughter Pressley ("Miss P") is 4.  Her oldest daughter, Leagrace, went to Heaven in July of 2015 at the age of 5 1/2.   Amber is married to Anthony Rauton, and they own chicken houses and a landscaping business.
We are family oriented, very involved in our church, dedicated to sports, and committed to excellence in education.  I simply love teaching, and I love my wonderful students!  We attend St. William Catholic Church where I sing in the choir and read in church on Sundays.  We are a football-loving family including USC Gamecocks and the Alabama Crimson Tide.  My husband and oldest daughter and her husband all graduated from RSM High, so we love the blue and gold! "Once a Trojan, Always a Trojan!"

I simply love teaching, and I love my wonderful students!  For me, teaching is not a job; it is a passion and a calling.

This summer, I plan to spend lots of time with my kids and grands. I love to read, so I'm catching up with some good books! We are also sprucing up the house a bit and cleaning out! I also plan to update my curriculum and make sure we're doing everything we can to learn as much as we can and have fun while doing it!
