Due to Covid-19, Aiken County has started Distance Learning for our students. A packet of assignments for my class, along with his/her Language Live book, will be available for pick-up at the designated times (Thursday 3/19 from Noon - 7:00pm and Friday 3/20 from 8:00am - 4:00pm). It would be in best practice for your child to work on these assignments daily. In regards to providing your child with his/her services as outlined in his/her paperwork, I will be using the program www.freeconferencecall.com. There is a paper attached to your child's Language Live book with access information as well as instructions on how to join my conference calls (instructions are located in your child's packet). Through the program, I will be available from 9:00am - 11:00am and 1:00pm - 3:00pm, Monday through Friday. I will touch base with your child through this program twice a week.
If any of the paper documents get misplaced, there are copies located in the link to the left labelled "Distance Learning." For the Math assignments, please email me at email@example.com for additional copies.
Take care and stay safe!
My name is Bailey Fussell and I will be teaching Learning Strategies this year. I started at Aiken High School in January 2016 after graduating from the University of South Carolina-Aiken with a Bachelor Degree in Special Education (Multi-Categorical) as well as additional teaching certification in Early Childhood Education in December 2015. I have taught students at the middle school level as well as high school students who were on the non-diploma track.
I moved to Charleston, SC in 2003 and graduated from Wando High School in 2010. While in high school, I was in the Teacher Cadet Program and because of my experiences in that program, I decided to become a Special Education teacher. I have always wanted to be a teacher, but as a Teacher Cadet, I learned that I wanted to teach students with disabilities.
I believe that a key component in a student's academic and functional success is efficient communication between the home and school. I will do my best to keep in touch about your child's progress. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I have 2nd and 6th period planning, which is usually 9:44am-10:33am and 1:47pm-2:36pm. I will also be available until 4:45pm on most days.
I look forward to a school year full of enrichment and success!
