Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor of Science in Psychology Master of Education in Counselor Education: School Counseling *I am available to meet with students throughout the school day from 7:00-2:30. My schedule varies with classes, small groups, and other counseling duties, so students are asked to let their teacher know if they'd like to see me and the teacher will email me. I will meet with students as soon as I am able, usually in the same day requested. *Parents may email or call me with concerns or to schedule a meeting.
I am thrilled to be Clearwater's School Counselor! The 2018-2019 school year is my 6th year in Aiken County and my 5th year at CES. I have a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Education in Counselor Education: School Counseling. In addition to being a certified School Counselor in South Carolina, I am a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and Global Career Development Faciliator (GCDF).
When I am not at school, I enjoy playing with my sweet kitty (who can be quite mischevious), playing tennis, going to concerts, and spending time with family and friends.
My role as a school counselor is to help guide students academic, career and social-emotional growth so they will succeed in school and also be prepared to lead fulfilling lives after graduation. I collaborate with school professionals and families to best meet the needs of my students. Students may self-refer, or they may be referred by school professionals, or parents.
All students in grades 4K-5 will receive monthly classroom guidance lessons. In classroom guidance we will utilize the Second Step social-emotional program to enhance social skills and emotional regulation. We will also have lessons on career development topics, friendship, personal body safety, and academic success skills. Everyone has a superhero inside of them!
Students also have the opportunity to meet with the counselor individually or in small groups.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
