Mrs. Adina Premo

Hello!   Bonjour!   Hola!   Ciao!   Hallo!   Salut!   Olá!

My name is Adina Premo and I am the MLP (Multilingual Learner Program) Teacher at J. D. Lever Elementary. I am teaching English to students who speak other languages.

I am originally from Romania, where I started my teaching career as a Special Education Teacher. After two years of teaching there, I moved to Aiken where I continued working as a Special Education Teacher for eight years.

In 2015, I accepted the MLP Teacher position, continuing doing what I love - working with wonderful students and supporting their instruction.

I graduated from "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University in Iasi, Romania, with a degree in Education. I also have a degree in Intercultural Education from the same university. I love meeting people from all over the world, exploring different cultures, and learning new languages. I speak Romanian, English, and French, and I am currently taking Spanish lessons.

Why do I love my job? Because I can relate to my students in so many ways! My personal experience with learning different languages has helped me refine my language teaching strategies.

Teaching students with various English proficiency levels from different countries can be challenging sometimes, but it is something I enjoy so much! It is very rewarding to watch non-English speakers gaining confidence in their communication skills and growing into fluent English speakers and active members in the school community.

My instructional goal is to help students develop their English language skills (both social and academic) in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while building a genuine relationship with them and speaking an universal language - the language of caring.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my family and friends. My husband and I have two talented and beautiful girls (Sophia, 12 and Charlotte, 9), a German Shepard named Chase, and two Guinea pigs named Chip and Dale. Our favorite thing to do is travel! We love Disney World and the mountains!

Please, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions (see information below).

I am looking forward to working with your child and his/her classroom teacher(s) this school year!
