¡Bienvenidos! I am excited to be a part of the Aiken County Public School District family! As a traveling teacher, I am dividing my time between Schofield Middle School and Aiken Intermediate School.
In the mornings, I teach Spanish Level One for high school credit at Schofield Middle School. Spanish I is a foundational course for Spanish language acquisition. Most of the instruction will be Spanish and will emphasize speaking, listening, reading, and writing in order to empower learners to gain Spanish skills at the novice level. In addition to practicing basic language skills, students will examine cultural practices and perspectives to gain a deeper understanding of Spanish speakers in both local and global communities. By the end of the course, students will be able to create phrases, questions, and statements on familiar topics. Students will also have the opportunity to practice and explore cultural traditions and listen to music from Spanish speaking countries.
In the afternoons, I will teach Exploratory Spanish at Aiken Intermediate School. This introductory level, semester course stresses the four language skills which are listening, reading, writing, and speaking with an emphasis on meaningful communication and cultural awareness. Students will also have the opportunity to practice and explore cultural traditions and listen to music from Spanish speaking countries. Please do not hesitate to contact me, if you have any questions or concerns.
Here’s to a great school year!
