2020-21 School Year Calendar:
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS AN UPDATED CALENDAR. During a special called virtual meeting of the Aiken County Board of Education held Wednesday, July 29, 2020, members of our board approved a new starting date of Monday, August 31, 2020, for the 2020-21 school year. During the meeting board members also approved revisions to the 2020-21 school calendar. In order to accommodate the new starting date and not impact the school district's traditional two-week Christmas Break and previously scheduled dates for high school graduations, these revisions included the followinh changes:
- Converting the Labor Day Holiday (Sept. 7) and Monday, January 4, 2021, to regular school days.
- Converting a scheduled fall break (Nov. 9-13) coinciding with the Masters Golf Tournament to regular school days.
Previously, during a regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday, May 12, 2020, Aiken County Public Schools Board of Education approved a revision to the 2020-21 academic calendar. District administration recommended a revision to the calendar in an effort to be as accommodating as possible to our staff members, students and families who are financially impacted by The Master’s Golf Tournament, which was moved from April to November, 2020, due to public health recommendations and concerns related to coronavirus.
THANK YOU for your patience, understanding and continued support as we continue to navigate these unprecedented times in public education.
