Mrs. Jill Horton-Forrest

I am a seasoned educator (This will be my 24th year) and life-long learner with extensive and varied background experiences in training management, coordinating a refugee resettlement program, and cross-cultural living. I have also worked at all levels of education, from pre-school to teaching graduate students in a university setting.  Much of my experience has been overseas or cross-cultural in nature. I lived and worked in China for five years. In my most recent experience teaching in South Carolina public schools, I have been both an ESOL teacher and special education teacher (I am certified in both).  I have a Masters degree in Special Education from the University of Virginia.
This past year brought a new challenge and opportunity to teach virtually in Aiken Innovate and I am happy to be back seeing students face to face.  I am thankful for the time this summer to get settled in a new home and catch up on my stack of books to read, and perhaps even get my toes in some sand 🙂
I have two children: a daughter who just graduated from high school and is starting college at The University of South Carolina in the fall, and a son who will be starting high school.
