PICTURE DAY - Picture Day is coming to Busbee on September 29th. No money will need to be sent on picture day. A proof or portrait package will be sent home from the school with information on how to order. All students will have their picture taken for the yearbook. DISTRICT REMINDER REGARDING DO-NOT-PHOTO/VIDEO PARENT REQUESTS - Aiken County Public School District procedures regarding do-not-photo/video requests state that each new school year during the school registration process, parents who wish to “opt out” their children from participation in photo or video opportunities at school must submit that request in writing to the ACPSD Communications Department.
The letter should be addressed to Director of Communications Mike Rosier at 1000 Brookhaven Drive, Aiken SC, 29803. It should state which student or students they wish the request to include, as well as their home school location or locations.
PLEASE NOTE: If no letter is on file, students are automatically opted in for photo, video, and media opportunities in our schools as they arise.
We welcome parents who wish to opt their children out of all photos and videos to submit a letter to us at any point prior to the end of October.

MEDICAL AND DENTAL SERVICES OFFERED - Rural Health Services has partnered with Cyril B. Busbee Elementary to provide students with dental and medical services on the Clyburn Community Health Express Mobile Unit. Registration forms can be obtained on the Nursing Services section of Aiken County Public School District's website. For more information please contact the school nurse or call (803) 219-1926.

Longtime Educator and Administrator Jeff Matthews Named Principal of Cyril B. Busbee Elementary School
Mr. Matthews, who currently serves as the principal of Mossy Creek Elementary in North Augusta, will begin his duties as principal of Busbee Elementary in July.

CSRA College Night | September 14, 2023
This year's CSRA College Night will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the James Brown Arena in Augusta. Area high school students will have a special opportunity to meet recruiters from more than 100 colleges and universities and win scholarships totaling $15,000.

LaCheryl Knox, a bus driver for Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle/High School, was recently named the Bus Driver of the Year by the South Carolina Association for Pupil Transportation.

Matthew Shepler is passionate about working with students and ensuring they meet their potential and realize new possibilities for future success. Ridge Spring-Monetta Middle/High families are invited to the school’s Open House on Thursday, August 24. Aiken County Public School District Superintendent King Laurence will retire at the end of the 2023-24 school year, ending his 38-year career as an educator in South Carolina.
