VALENTINE CANDY GRAMS - The 3rd Grade Team at Busbee Elementary is selling Valetine Candy Grams for $.25 cents each. Each Candy Gram purchased will include a sweet treat. Please fill out this form, place Candy Grams and money in a sealed envelope, and return to school with your by February 10th.

ACCESS TESTING - ACCESS testing, an English Proficiency test for multi-language learners will be given January 23-March 10 at Busbee Elementary.

BUSBEE BULLDOG BUDDY CLUB FUNDRAISER - Students will be able to purchase snack items every Friday during their lunchtime (Please see flyer below). Ms. Foster’s Busbee Bulldog Buddy club will be having a snack fundraiser sale. The goal of this fundraiser is to help Ms. Foster’s class raise money for field trips and other expenses. If you would like your child to participate and purchase snacks, please send their money with them every Friday to purchase items during their lunch period. We thank you for your support!

DISTRICT REMINDER REGARDING DO-NOT-PHOTO/VIDEO PARENT REQUESTS - Aiken County Public School District procedures regarding do-not-photo/video requests state that each new school year during the school registration process, parents who wish to “opt out” their children from participation in photo or video opportunities at school must submit that request in writing to the ACPSD Communications Department.
The letter should be addressed to Director of Communications Mike Rosier at 1000 Brookhaven Drive, Aiken SC, 29803. It should state which student or students they wish the request to include, as well as their home school location or locations.
PLEASE NOTE: If no letter is on file, students are automatically opted in for photo, video, and media opportunities in our schools as they arise.
We welcome parents who wish to opt their children out of all photos and videos to submit a letter to us at any point prior to the end of October.

Longtime Educator and Administrator Jeff Matthews Named Principal of Cyril B. Busbee Elementary School
Mr. Matthews, who currently serves as the principal of Mossy Creek Elementary in North Augusta, will begin his duties as principal of Busbee Elementary in July.

Recruiting And Retaining The Very Best
Recent board-approved bonuses aim to help the District retain its high-quality teachers and staff and attract new educators and employees to fill existing vacancies and support the district’s mission to ensure all students thrive. The District’s Spring MEGA Hiring Event is being held Saturday, February 4, at Aiken High School.

District Names Brian Gibbons As Director Of Federal Programs
The District is pleased to announce experienced educator and federal programs coordinator Brian Gibbons has been named Aiken County Public School’s new Director of Federal Programs. Gibbons transitioned into his new role within the Department of Federal Programs where he has faithfully served the students and families of Aiken County as an Instructional Program Support Coordinator for the past five years.

Pope Selected As Interim Assistant Principal At Aiken High School
George Pope has been selected as an interim assistant principal at Aiken High School. Since joining Aiken County in 2012, he has taught physical education and health at Schofield Middle School and North Aiken Elementary School. Prior to his recent administrative assignment, Pope completed the District’s Aspiring Principal Program.

Laughter Lands Principalship At Langley-Bath-Clearwater Middle School
Dr. Brice Laughter appreciates the tight-knit community in the Langley-Bath-Clearwater area, which reminds him of the small mill village where he grew up in Greer. Laughter was recently-named Principal of Langley-Bath Clearwater (LBC) Middle School and began his new position at LBC Monday (January 23, 2023).

Wiley To Join Admin Team At North Augusta High
After serving for the last several years as the District’s Director of Special Programs, LaToya Wiley will join the leadership team at North Augusta High School as an Assistant Principal later this month.
