Mrs. Emily Geyer

My name is Emily Geyer.  Thank you for visiting my teacher page!

I have been working for the Aiken County Public School District for eleven years now, and I truly consider Aiken High School to be my forever home. This is the third year I will be teaching courses from the Cambridge International program and I could not be more excited about exploring this world-class curriculum with my students again.

As far as my educational experience goes, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in English Education from Arkansas Tech University in 2006 and my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from (what was once GRU, but is now...) Augusta University in 2014.  I am also Gifted and Talented endorsed.

When I'm not teaching, I like to spend time with my family. My oldest daughter, Savannah, is living her best life in Arkansas right now. My youngest daughter, Hadley, will be in Kindergarten at First Presbyterian Dayschool.  I have two step-sons, Joshua and Caleb, who hail from the great state of Texas.  Joshua is currently attending the University of Georgia.  Caleb is a senior in high school. In the early months of COVID-19 quarantine our family adopted Ernest Hemingway Geyer--an orange tabby cat.  Hadley treats "Hemi" like a younger sibling, so I suppose he's part of the family count too.  My husband, Dr. Andrew Geyer, is the Chair of the English and Languages Departments at USC Aiken. He's not only a regionally recognized award-winning novelist and short story writer, he is also the love of my life.

This year may look a little different from what we are all used to, but I know we can make the best of our circumstances.  Your child is an important part of my teaching and learning family.  Please be assured that each person's emotional and intellectual growth is something I take very seriously.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, or if there is something I might need to know about your child, please do not hesitate to contact me at
