Mrs. Emily Geyer

Welcome!

My name is Emily Geyer.  Thank you for visiting my teacher page!

I have been working for the Aiken County Public School District for nine years now, and I truly consider Aiken High School to be my forever home. This is the second year I will be teaching courses from the Cambridge International program and I could not be more excited about exploring this world-class curriculum with my students again.

As far as my eductional experience goes, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in English Education from Arkansas Tech University in 2006 and my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from (what was once GRU, but is now...) Augusta University in 2014.  I am also Gifted and Talented endorsed.

When I'm not teaching, I like to spend time with my family. My oldest daughter, Savannah, is a first year college student in Arkansas. My youngest daughter, Hadley, will be in the 3K room at First Presbyterian Dayschool.  I have two step-sons, Joshua and Caleb, who hail from the great state of Texas.  Joshua is currently attending the University of Georgia.  Caleb is a junior in high school. In the early months of COVID-19 quarantine our family adopted Ernest Hemingway Geyer--an orange tabby kitten.  Hadley treats "Hemi" like a younger sibling, so I suppose he's part of the family count too.  My husband, Dr. Andrew Geyer, is the Chair of the English and Languages Departments at USC Aiken. He's not only a regionally recognized award-winning novelist and short story writer, he is also the love of my life.

I know that this year is going to look a little different from what we are all used to, but I know we can make the best of our circumstances.  Your child is an important part of my teaching and learning family.  Please be assured that each person's emotional and intellectual growth is something I take very seriously.

If you ever have any questions or concerns, or if there is something I might need to know about your child, please do not hesistate to contact me at egeyer@acpsd.net.

Now please take some time to familiarize yourself with the technology we will be using this year.  The agenda link below will take students through  Week 1 Virtual Learning Modules.
