WELCOME TO AIKEN INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL - We are so excited to welcome you to Aiken Intermediate School (AIS), a unique learning environment that was created to meet the social, emotional and academic goals of our sixth-grade students as they transition from elementary school to middle school!
Each school year, we look forward to welcoming rising sixth grade students from Aiken Elementary, Chukker Creek Elementary, East Aiken School of the Arts, J.D. Lever Elementary, Millbrook Elementary, North Aiken Elementary, and Oakwood-Windsor Elementary.

VALENTINE'S DANCE - The AIS Serteen Club will be sponsoring a Valentine's Dance on Wednesday, February 8th from 3:30 pm- 5:00 pm in the gymnasium.
Tickets will be pre-sold on February 1st, 2nd, & 6th. Concessions will be for sale, and prices will range from $1-$5. Students will be dismissed in the front carline loop.

100 DAYS SMARTER - We're celebrating the 100th day of school with a twist. It's an 80's Spirit Day because there's only 80 days left. Wear your bright colors or a throwback t-shirt. Be creative!

ACCESS TESTING - ACCESS for ELLs Online (ACCESS Online) is a computer-based, adaptive test that responds to student performance and may be administered in group or individual settings. This assessment is given annually to English Language Learner students in grades 1-12.

REGISTRATION FOR 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR NOW OPEN - Parents and guardians can now register students for the upcoming school year! For students currently enrolled in Aiken County Public Schools, registration is quick and easy. Parents and guardians can register through their Powerschool Parent Portal account. If you do not already have a Parent Portal account created, please contact the school for assistance.

LAPTOP DISTRIBUTION - Our Explorers received their laptops during the first week of school. In order to receive a device, students must return a signed copy of the Student Pledge of Use Agreement. A Technology Fee of $50 will be assessed in the PowerSchool Parent portal.

Laughter Lands Principalship At Langley-Bath-Clearwater Middle School
Dr. Brice Laughter appreciates the tight-knit community in the Langley-Bath-Clearwater area, which reminds him of the small mill village where he grew up in Greer. Laughter was recently-named Principal of Langley-Bath Clearwater (LBC) Middle School and began his new position at LBC Monday (January 23, 2023).

After serving for the last several years as the District’s Director of Special Programs, LaToya Wiley will join the leadership team at North Augusta High School as an Assistant Principal later this month.

Taylor Selected For Interim Role As Director Of Special Programs
Beth Taylor has served the students and families of Aiken County Public Schools since 2002. Her work with XSEL, the social emotional learning program she helped launch in 2020 for elementary school students as a tier-three behavioral intervention, will continue throughout her interim role as Director of Special Programs.

District Now Accepting Aiken iNNOVATE Applications For 2023-24 Virtual Program
Aiken iNNOVATE, the district's full-time virtual program for students in grades 6-12, is now accepting applications for the 2023-24 school year. Interested students should complete their application by February 15.
