  • WEAR PURPLE ON APRIL 25 - Aiken County Public Schools is going to "PURPLE UP" for Military Kids on Thursday, April 25. Please join us in showing your support for the families of those who serve by wearing purple and thanking a child of a military family for their bravery and service.

  • Opportunity:
    Middle School Volleyball Clinic
    The Aiken High Volleyball team will hold a middle school volleyball clinic for girls from 7th-9th grade who are attending or eligible to attend Aiken High. The clinic will be held May 6-9 from 4:30-6:30 at the auxiliary gym in the new section of Aiken High. Students will need a Permission to Participate form signed by parents. The form is available online on the Aiken High Volleyball web page or request one from the office.

    Youth Volleyball Camp (fliers include Camp Registration, Medical Consent and Summer Camp Flier)
    The Aiken High Volleyball team will hold a youth volleyball camp for ages 8-14 on June 11-13 from 9-12am. Athletes will receive a t-shirt if registered by May 17 (first come after that date). Cost is $65. See online flier for information on sending the payment to the correct location. The flier is under Youth Opportunities on the Aiken High Volleyball page.   • Gators: This is a great opportunity!

    SCABSE@Aiken has planned a workshop for Saturday, April 27 at Aiken High School. You can register for the workshop at It is open to all students and parents to attend in order to prepare for SCREADY, SC PASS, and EOCs. A panel of teachers will be answering questions and sharing strategies as to how to be successful with the end of the year assessments. Refreshments and door prizes will be provided.

  • Book Recommendations: Let's welcome next year's 6th graders by recommending some Great Books to read.  Choose a book that you are reading or read from the AMS library and fill out a green recommendation card.  These cards will be placed under the book next year for the students to see.  If your book is chosen by a sixth grader in the Fall then you will be sent a special treat, as long as you are in the Aiken County Schools.  Everyone who turns in a card will have a chance to win a Burger King gift Card and a variety of AMS prizes. Your ELA teachers and the media center will have the Recommendation Cards.

  • CSRA Regional Science and Engineering Fair Winners - AMS had three winners at the Central Savannah River Area Regional Science and Engineering Fair!! So proud of all that entered and the winners!! Go Gator Scientist!! 

    - Trey Coleman (6th) Maria Racaza (8th) received Honorable Mention.

    - Vivian Swearingen received 2nd Place. She is invited to apply to the Broadcom MASTERS National Competition. She was chosen among the top 10% of 6th grade competitors at this weekend's Science and Engineering Fair at USC Aiken. Her next step is to complete the online application by June 12th to officially enter the national competition. Entries will be judged during the summer and 300 top projects will be announced on September 4, 2019. From these Top 300 MASTERS, 30 finalists and one parent/guardian will win an all-expense-paid trip to the national finals in Washington, DC to showcase their projects, compete in teams and visit sites that celebrate innovation through, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
