Celebrating Volunteer Heroes in our Community Past, Present and Future

The American Red Cross of Aiken has announced the Annual Heroes Breakfast on May 16, 2017, and has announced the addition of a youth component to their celebration by recognizing our local Youth Heroes as a part of this year’s event.

Knowing that Aiken County Public Schools has a strong history of community involvement and engaged youth, they are inviting our District to nominate a worthy Youth Heros, young people who have honorably chosen to give back to their community through volunteering.

Anyone can nominate an Aiken County middle school or high school student (grades 6th to 12th) as a Youth Hero for their volunteer efforts by completing a simple nomination form and submitting it online at  The deadline for submittal is March 31, 2017. These young volunteers may be nominated for their service in anyone of the following categories:

·      Arts/Culture

·      Community Service

·      Education

·      Environment

·      Health

·      Human Need

·      Public Safety and

·      Social Justice/Advocacy

Winners of all ages will be honored at the Aiken Heroes Breakfast on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at Newberry Hall.  Winners will be provided up to three complimentary breakfast tickets for themselves and family members.  Tickets for the general public are also available for $25.
